# When meals will be eaten regularly in the living room because the living room and dining area bleed into each other without an obvious divider, you want to introduce a dining arrangement in which the table can double as another work surface. Also make sure that the chairs can easily be utilized for watching television or engaging in conversation. In some cases, the kitchen and living room flow seamlessly together so you might want to consider adding a decorative screen that can be moved when you want to seal off the kitchen activity from living room activity.
Traffic
# The principal focus area of the living room should remain free from traffic interruptions. This means that you don't put the bookcase in a spot where someone has to walk between the TV and the sofa in order to retrieve a book. Keep in mind that furniture pieces situated at right angles to each other provide the most comfortable position for conversation, as it cuts down on the need to bend the neck to see the other people to whom you are talking.

# Lighting is an essential component of the living room, and of foremost importance is the ability to see without glare or having to squint. The addition of wheels provides the greatest flexibility possible for rearranging on a whim or to meet constantly competing needs
